About
Faceted Fancies was born from a love of jewellery, a love of colour, and a little reminder from my daughter that perhaps growing up doesn’t mean we have to leave all the fun behind.
I’ve worked in the jewellery industry for over twenty years, spending most of those years working with luxury, high-end jewellery. I studied Jewellery & Silversmithing at the School of Jewellery in Birmingham, became a skilled gemstone lapidarist and later qualified as a gemologist with the prestigious Gemmological Association of Great Britain.
In 2021 I became a mum, then two years later I tragically lost my partner. After a period of extreme difficulty, I slowly began to heal while navigating grief, motherhood and rebuilding our lives.
Somewhere along the way, I started making jewellery again, then something unexpected happened. I found myself drawn towards colour, sparkle, nostalgia and whimsy. I started creating pieces inspired by the things that made my daughter smile and the little things that made me smile too.
Making these pieces became more than just creating jewellery. It gave me somewhere to put my imagination when life felt heavy. It gave me something joyful to focus on. Little by little, it became part of my healing. And Faceted Fancies was born.
Faceted Fancies is a wearable reminder that we don’t have to grow up too fast. It is jewellery designed for adults, but made to capture that feeling of childhood, and seeing the world as something colourful and exciting. It is Jewellery for the young at heart, the nostalgic, the colourful and anyone who believes that life could always use a little more sparkle. ✨
So welcome to Faceted Fancies.
Because growing up is inevitable… but growing out of the things that make us happy is entirely optional. 💕
With love, Rebecca and Nellie
